The trails at the Kyle of Southerland are split between 2 small centres (Carbisdale and Balblair) which are connected together by a railway foot bridge. On opposing sides of the valley, each set of trails has a distinctive feel. Balblair's highlight is it's technical black run and great views, whilst Carbisdale is more classic red run fun. The large and dramatic Carbisdale Youth Hostel makes a great hub for both trails networks, providing accommodation and bike hire. Balblair has a car park but no other facilities.

Balblair - Blue Route
Perfect for competent mountain bikers; the trail finishes with a gentle swooping trail though the woods.

Distance:	3 km
Time:	30 min

Balblair - Black Route
A choice of a short 6 km and longer 11 km loop are available. The highlight of the trail is the technical slab and boardwalk sections with wonderful views over the valley.

Carbisdale - Blue Route
A gentle route through stunning forests. Optional rock feature make this a great route to improve your skills.

Carbisdale - Red Route
A mixture of fire road and single track through stunning woodland. Great views of the nearby lochen. Starts from just below Carbisdale Youth Hostel.
