Things to do off the bike:
- Dumfries Museum & Camera Obscura: Centered around an eighteenth century windmill, Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura is less than 10 miles from Ae. Discover the history of the surrounding area, and enjoy the wonderful views.
- Drumlanrig Castle: As well the fantastic mountain bike trails at Drumlanrig, you can visit the Castle which is open seasonally, and have a look round the cycling museum.
- The Globe Inn: Established in 1610, The Globe Inn (Dumfries) is synonimous with the poet Robert Burns. The pub is full of memorabilia from the time of Robert burns, including etching on the windows of Burn's poems.
- Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum: Centered around the old RAF Dumfries control tower, the Aviation Museum includes a Spitfire MkII. The attractions are both in and out of doors.
